THE SAN FRANCISCO ELECTRIC TOUR COMPANY SEGWAY TOURS

We wanted to do something different on our visit to San Francisco, but still see and experience the sites and especially the magnificent wharf and waterfront.

The Electric Tour Company’s Segway tour of the wharf and waterfront proved to be just the ticket! After arriving at their offices and checking in, we went through a thorough 45 minute training on the proper and safe way to navigate the Segway. It was easy to learn and get acclimated to and the tour group of 8 was off to see the sites on this 2 ½ hour tour. We cruised through the Municipal Pier and Aquatic Park, Fisherman’s Wharf and its picturesque fishing harbor, the Cable Car turnaround and, of course, Ghirardelli Square, home of world famous chocolate!

Next we went by the National Maritime Museum and the historic sailing ships at Hyde Street Pier and saw spectacular views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge, Fish Alley, Fisherman’s Chapel, and the WWII Liberty Ship and Submarine Pampanito. We passed the mouthwatering Dungeness Crab Stands in historic Fisherman’s Wharf then looped through North Beach and San Francisco’s Little Italy where we stopped at Tony’s to get a slice of 11 time “world champion” Tony Gemignani’s pizza! Led by our tour guide, who narrated the entire experience, this was a fun and unique way to experience the wharf and waterfront and we highly recommend it!
