B CELLARS NAPA VALLEY
One of our favorite stops each time we visit Napa Valley is B Cellars. Founded in 2003 by Jim Borsack and Duffy Keys this spectacularly appointed winery is on the cutting edge of producing exceptional food-centric artisan wines while providing craft wine and food pairing experiences. With four decades of experience and a strong understanding of the Napa appellation award-winning Winemaker, Kirk Venge expertly utilizes a multi-vineyard, multi-varietal philosophy to craft outstanding blends and single-vineyard wines that convey distinct character, depth, and layers of flavor.
The estate features an ultra-modern wine production facility, hillside vineyards, dramatic caves, tours, tastings, private events, and a Hospitality House centered around an interactive, open-hearth kitchen encircled by stylish furnishings.
Our favorite experience at B. Cellars is always the Oakville Trek! This extraordinary experience was led by our personal Wine Guide Levi McChristian who took us on a tour of the vineyards, gardens, winery, and caves. Always a highlight, the barrel tasting in the caves was followed by a seated wine and food pairing in the Hospitality House.
Our first of 5 “bites” was a perfectly prepared Blackened Halibut with Kiwi Coulis, Tobiko, and Jicama. This was expertly paired with the 2017 Blend 23- a Sauvignon Blanc/Chardonnay/Viognier white masterpiece of a blend! A Roasted Beet Salad with Delicata Squash, hazelnuts and Citrus Vinaigrette paired with the 2106 Dutton Ranch Chardonnay was a refreshing 2nd course.
Italian Sausage Pizza with Mozzarella was paired with the 2106 Zinfandel and was followed by a delectable Goat Ravioli with Charred Fennel Soubise, Broccoli Rabe, and Sage, perfectly paired with the 2016 Blend 25- Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah Blend.
Our fifth and final course was a Smoked Brisket Slider on an Onion Bun with Kansas City BBQ Sauce, accompanied by Pickle Chips.
This mouthwatering finale was paired with the spectacular 2016 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon.
