Pine Ridge Vineyards is another one of our must-stops every time we visit Napa Valley. Founded in 1978 by Gary Andrus, Pine Ridge Vineyards is located in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, renowned for world-class Cabernet Sauvignon wines that display the epitome of power and elegance.

Sustainability is an important part of the Pine Ridge mission. We selected the amazing “Savor Pine Ridge Experience” that is held in the fabulous Cellar 47 located in their beautiful wine cave. This is an amazing 5-course offering that is promoted as “A food and wine pairing for your senses”! The first course was a perfect Zucchini Fritter with a Mushroom Salad and Crème Fraiche perfectly paired with their 2015 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon.

Next, we were served a Tortilla Espanola with Salsa Verde nicely matched with their 2015 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon. This was followed by a delectable Pork Picadillo Empanada paired with another outstanding Cab, the 2014 Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon!
The 4th course consisted of a perfect Duck Rillette Toast, with Cherry Apricot Aigre-Doux expertly paired with their 2015 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.

The “coup de grace” 5th course was an outstanding Smoked Trout Gougere with Pickled Red Onion and Apple slices. What made this 5th course superb was the pairing with Pine Ridge’s’ “Flagship Wine” the absolutely amazing 2014 Fortis Cabernet Sauvignon.
This entire experience is a Cabernet lover’s dream, 5 perfect small plates paired with 5 different fabulous Cabernet Sauvignons!
